One star is a bit of a stretch when reviewing this location. Whoever answered the phone on today's call (no name given) needs a serious lesson on customer service. I called because the online system was not allowing to transfer my membership to another location. The guy rudely cut me off and said he could not handle it because the in gym members hold priority. He then explained he would not do it unless I tried online. He did not listen to a word I said.If he had, he would have remembered I tried it over 10 times. His attitude was so negative and off putting that I cut the phone call short to speak with him in person.
Great variety of equipment. Friendly staff and posotive atmosphere. All common areas were clean and well kept.
Plenty of cardio and weight machines. Great for a good workout and great price. Pay attention to peak hours to avoid busy times. The staff is fairly friendly. Love the fact its open 24 hours.
Save yourself the hassle and DON'T DO IT! Absolutely terrible management and horrible customer service. Tried out the no commitment for $10 deal and when we went to go cancel, they told us that we had signed on for a year even though we explicitly told them we wanted the no commitment, cancel anytime deal. They then told us we could come back and cancel on October 16th. When we went to go cancel, they again told us that we would have to pay the cancellation fee or come back in one month. Like someone else said, you get what you pay for, horrible customer service and a company ripping you off left and right. You're better off spending the extra money for a different gym with better equipment anyway.
In regards to the gym itself, I would recommend taking a few spare minutes and drive to the Bryan location. The gym is never as crowded as the CSTAT location and it's always clean.
It sucks. Machines are worn down and the mechanics of them at a higher weight, screw with your ligaments and tendons. Not having a bigger free weight section hinders the ability of you trying to control the weight. Your body is at the mercy of the machine's range of motion. Also the fees and contract make the cost way more than just the monthly payment. On top of all this, the online and customer services don't get necessary information back to you in a timely manner, especially when you're going to cancel.
