I went in today needing some lawn and garden assistance, i was looking at the double hook flower hanger, there was a little rust on it and would need a good sanding and fresh coat of paint. I was able to stop a worker, i apologize to him as i forgot his name, he wasnt sure on what to do, so he assured me he would be right back with his manager. Within a minute he was walking over with his Manager Kelly, she was wonderful. She took it as a training oppurtunity with the gentleman. They talked it out to what needed to be done, the amount to take off the purchase price to compensate for me buying spray paint and the time to bring it back to a good condition.
Not too many managers would take that time during a busy day to develop their staff, and i was happy to be a part of that training!
It was great to see her taking the time to train staff and to give them the confidence they need to continue on to grow themselves personally and professionally.
I also want to acknowledge several other employees that asked how i was in passing, or if i needed any assistance. Everyone was in a great mood and it really showed in the customer service throughout the store. This is why i shop at Home Depot.
