And 1 hookah (and only 4 people smoking). Soooo, needless to say, the 5 of them were escorted out BY POLICE. Can anyone reading my review please explain to me in a way that "MAKES SENSE" WHY my children and their friends had a police escort, because maybe my understanding is bad???? The ONLY reason that I can come up with is the manager AND the server "DELANEY" are racist, evil and miserable people.
This happened Sunday 2:51am 7-16-17, So the Bouncers can't tell difference between drunk and tired, my wife was tired and needed fresh air. Talked to a brick walls aka the bouncers. I do security and I deal with people too but I'm more considerate and I work alone Where they are lots of people shopping. You gotta train your people better and teach logic, one tall blond door guy, after I asked for he could just get my friends attention said " you got a phone right?" Yea loud ass music and vibrations from said music and you telling me they can feel or hear their phones?! I understand keep drunks out but I was concerned for my wife and mad, never going again and hope northgate in general ceases to exist.
I've never been so degraded and disrespected before in my LIFE. This place first allowed the waitress Delaney to let me and my friends to purchase a hookah when there was clearly 5 people sitting at the table (there was only 4 people smoking my fifth friend never smoked in her life) so we proceeded to buy the hookah , first it took forever and the people across from us who arrived way after us got there's first ,but anyways about 20 minutes later Delaney decided to come back and say well since it's 5 of y'all my manger said y'all have to buy another hookah so we kindly asked her for her manager. He came over with an unkindly attitude and said we had to buy another hookah or get up, we calmly explained to him that in the fine gray print on the menu said 4 people per hookah (which was true for us since it was only 4 people smoking) not 4 people per table. As he was telling us we have 30 seconds to get up or get another hookah there was a table of 8 people with only one hookah but WE were the problem. This was not the end! As we were finishing are just bought drinks and finishing the hookah that we just spent money on he comes back with body guards and shortly came the police on 5 calm young black girls, but all that manpower was necessary right? When all we were trying to do was finish what we just spent our money on , but no the manger grabbed our drinks and we got escorted out like some thugs being disorderly. They will never receive our business and this will definitely not be over for them they messed with 5 educated black women , inspectors, government officials, and court will be in their life.
My first experience at the hookah station will be my last. My friends and I went during an a&m home football game. We knew Northgate would be packed and were fine with that. It was just so packed in there! All of us have been to bars where you have to force your way around but this was ridiculous. I know every place has a limit and I'm sure they reached it. Also the cover charge was $10. I didn't pay for it but my guy friends who did felt like they didn't get their money's worth.
I will never return to this establishment! My friends and I went out to enjoy our night, our server was terribly slow. We ordered a Hookah for the table and she kept closing out each check even though we wanted open tabs. We got a sense that she was not very fund of serving us because we were black and thought we would leave without paying our bill so she closed out the check after EVERY SINGLE drink we ordered. At this point we are still very pleasant and civilized. After about 30 minutes into our service, our server mentions that her manager wants us to order another Hookah because there were 5 in our party and 4 to a Hookah. Our close friend just recently had a child and did not touch the Hookah not once. Also our server failed to mention that before we ordered the hookah. The FINE PRINT ON THE MENU STATED" 4 people per Hookah" not 4 people per table. The table across from us had EXACTLY 8 WHITE PEOPLE sitting at the table and they only ordered 1 Hookah. NOT ONCE did we see the manager walk to their table to address their policy but returned to our table 4-5 times. He began to become belligerent and extremely rude. He REMOVED ALL OF OUR FULL AND UNTOUCHED DRINKS FROM THE TABLE ALONG WITH THE HOOKAH. We were charged for everything and didn't get to enjoy anything. The MANGER who is white then got a random black man involved who doesn't even work for the establishment to convince us to leave because he was black and we were black. I guess he didn't want to deal with us which was extremely offensive. He then brought over 3 additional white men and 2 police officers. MIND YOU THIS IS A TOTAL OF 7 men confronting 5 young calm black women over false advertisement on their behalf. We were removed from the property without our money being returned. WE ALL KNOW WHAT THE ROOTED ISSUE OF THIS SITUATION WAS. I don't need to say more. This business will never receive my SERVICE ever again.
My daughters and their friends, who happened to be "black," by the way, went to this place last night. It was 5 of them. The menu read 4 people to 1 hookah. One of my girls friends does not smoke at all; however they were told that they HAD to purchase another hookah simply because it's 5 people sitting at the table. The server "DELANEY" AND the manager, who were BOTH white and were both informed that ONLY 4 people were smoking. My daughters and their friends looked around the club and noticed tables of 10 that had white customers with ONLY 1 hookah on their table. So they're trying to figure out WHY is it ok for the white table to have 10 people and 1 hookah and they had 5 people
