Avis/Budget has lost me as a customer for life.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I made a reservation and paid for the car online to get the "Pay now" discount. Two minutes after making the reservation I found out that I needed to cancel the reservation. I called them immediately so not longer than 5 minutes to cancel and they charged me $50!
Rented car in Dallas. Was charged for a variety of things I did not agree to nor was told about nor signed. Brought car to location I moved to with kitten I adopted and was told rental extension for one more day would cost over 400 dollars. Went about my day and returned car before the time indicated on the contract. Although the counter person had looked at contract earlier she failed to inform me the location closed 2 hours earlier than the return time on contract. Also there was no late night drop box and key drop was inside airport which was locked. I left my kitten at home and cleaned car fully from head to toe as it was quite filthy. Will be returning 1st thing in morning but in no universe real or imagined paying 400 dollars because multiple employees failed at their job.
I rented a car with Avis/Budget, and picked it up on Thursday night, 4/27/17. I drove 700 miles across Texas on Friday, attended a funeral on Saturday, and drove the return 700 miles on Sunday. Shortly after, I received a notice for "Special cleaning for excessive dirt ot [sic] stains. Pet fee." to the amount of $91.66.
At no point were there animals in the vehicle. I had to spend the following week fighting the charges. I requested photos of the pet hair in the vehicle, and after five days of waiting, I never received proof. I reported the charges as fraudulent to Discover.
DO NOT RENT HERE. FRAUDULENT CHARGES.
RUDE! The woman greeted us with "whats up". I told her I had a reservation, it was 9:45 am. She said the paper work indicated that I was getting a car at 10:30 am and they had none for me. I said that would be a problem as I have an appointment at 11:00. She very reluctantly gave me a car and then made a snide comment about other later not getting a car. I said that the return time of 4:30 pm was wrong and I would be back at 5:30. She said, no problem you are good to midnight. Upon returning the car the guy then tried to charge me an addition $20 because it was after 4:30 and the woman from the morning told him nothing. I did get the agreed rate but only after a WTF??? you only rent a car for six hours??? They also had no change for a cash transaction and I had to go break a $20 myself. RUDE! I am watching the CC I used for the reservation very closely.
