Went in to the ER last Monday for possible appendicitis. When I was back in the ER, I felt as if the staff couldn’t get me out of there fast enough. Very unwelcoming. They notified me that I was good to go. I was supposed to get an ultrasound while I was back there, but that wasn’t the case. I had an ultrasound done on Friday, and found out a cyst had ruptured. Had the staff done the ultrasound like they were supposed to, this would have been caught earlier. Very unsatisfied and upset. Will never go there again!
I was instructed by my general practitioner to go to Baylor Scott and White College Station. I have had intestinal problems for over 20yrs. I went to my doctor on Monday and he put me on 2 strong antibiotics and a steriod to protect the liver from what's going on in my intestines. Long story short I have been passing watery black stools for over a week. The antibiotics aren't helping, not much anyhow. They only did a Ct scan and my Dr specifically said I needed to be admitted and have a colonoscopy. They were told to call him, they did not. The nurses were great but they were understaffed and couldn't keep up or spend to much time gathering background info for the doctor. So when the doctor came in to give me the results of my abnormal Ct scan but not abnormal enough to admit me per his report, I spoke in depth in tears begging for admission and a colonoscopy that is what my doctor wanted me to have done when I went there in the first place. The doctor and the hospital administrator said even though I'm passing blood and pus every 15 mins, they wouldn't admit me to do a colonoscopy. My General physician is shocked to say the least. I don't have insurance and my husbands new job benefits won't kick in for 90-120 days. I could have a perforated bowel, kink in my intestines and I know I have diverticulosis. I asked plain as day so you're sending me home when you can get emergency Medicaid benefits for me when I'm bleeding and haven't slept in days and can't keep food down at all. Goes right thru me within 15 mins of eating and i continue to go until I'm empty. He said yes your not losing enough blood and your not too dehydrated. They gave me two lommotil which one would normally stop a train up, it did nothing. I had to have the nurse come and unhook me from machines IV etc 12 times in 6 hrs. And 6 of those times were after the lommotil. I've never been treated so unfairly. I could lose my life due to their greed. I've never hurt so bad and never had cramps like this and I had a c section in 1995 that the epidural didn't work, I'm no wimp to pain. I haven't slept in days only 1 night for A week. This horrible hospital sent me home knowing I could be dead in a matter of days if I have a perforation or even worse colon cancer. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Period.
I have been in a couple of times. Twice to the er and once for some imaging. I love the nurses. They are incredible. The doctor I keep getting however is fairly rude and I only saw her once. I came in with abdominal pain think it was appendicitis and it ended up being an ovarian cyst. This news I got from my nurse, who was absolutely exceptional, and did not realize that I had not been informed of what the cause of my pain was until discharge from that nurse. I give it 5 stars because the nurses are so kind and the facility is gorgeous.
Great experience with the wife and baby. Well kept and clean hospital. Works great with Scott and White Health Plan Insurance.
If I could go back and give chi st. Joes a lesser rating I would due to them not being as proactive in trying to find the cause of my stomach issues. They were nice, but had they done a CT I would've been well over this. I was suffering and pretty much prepared myself to die bc I have been so sick from...an ulcer. I was sooo tired. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Aisha "Superwoman" Jennings for ordering the CT scan and the meds she prescribed me has been a miracle. The Pepcid is doing its work though it'll be a while before I'm completely well again. Bailey the nurse is wonderful she came in and found a vein with a quickness...I had been dehydrated. The previous lady poked me and let's just say it hurt, I'm happy she didn't poke me again lol. Also there was a blond haired lady who checked me in she was kind as well. Now I can see a Gastroenterologist. Overall BSW is a clean facility with exceptional professionals from the transporters to the doctors. They really, really came through and I am so blessed that they took all the steps to find out what had been wrong with me for a month and a half. Cheers to better health! Thank you very much for seeing me as a person. Sometimes all you need is a second opinion or a fifth one.
